This is exactly why the Golden State Warriors signed Kevin Durant, to pull off plays like you’ll see in the video below. There was literally seconds left before halftime.
Andre Iguodala inbounds the ball to Steph Curry with 7.9 seconds left in the half. Curry tries to penetrate into the lane and when realizes he’s stuck, he tries to kick out the ball to Durant on the 3-point line with 5.2 seconds left.
Ricky Rubio anticipates this and disrupts the pass from Curry to Durant. This is very good defense by Rubio and it looks like the play is falling apart for Golden State. Not so fast, this is Kevin Durant we’re talking about.
Durant recovers the ball near half-court with about 3.2 seconds left on the clock. He quickly fakes out Rubio and pulls a nasty crossover move and then jacks up a long-range three which he swishes just as the clock expires.
If you look carefully, you’ll also see Curry doing the mannequin challenge to honor the majestic shot Durant just pulled off.
