Explosions went off in a fireworks market on December 20, 2016, in Tultepec, Mexico, killing at least 31 people.

The city of Tultepec, 25 miles north of Mexico City, is a huge pyrotechnics manufacturer in Mexico. The San Pablito market, where the explosions occurred, is a popular destination for local fireworks sales.

The market was especially crowded when the accident occurred as many locals were shopping for fireworks to celebrate the upcoming holidays and New Years Eve.

Many people are still unaccounted for and the death toll could rise. Fireworks explosions are a very common occurrence in Mexico, and there was actually a large explosion at the same exact fireworks market back in 2005 that left many people injured.
